Former Auburn quarterback hospitalized, 'fighting for his life': reports

Former Auburn quarterback Jeff Klein was hospitalized in Georgia and is “fighting for his life,” according to multiple reports Thursday.

Klein, who played at Auburn from 1999 to 2001, was admitted to Piedmont Hospital in Columbus, Ga., where his “condition has rapidly become more drastic and equally challenging since his admission,” according to a Go Fund Me set up for him.

Klein reportedly went to the hospital with severe back pain, and an MRI “showed spots on his lower back.”

Another former Auburn soccer player, Cole Cubelic, shared on Go Fund Me, tweeting, “My friend and teammate is fighting for his life. His beautiful family needs our help.”

Klein is currently a teacher, baseball coach, and offense coordinator at Loachapoka High School.
