PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A Pittsburgh police officer was rushed to hospital after his motorcycle was struck by a passing vehicle on the South Side.

Police say officers were called to East Carson Street on S. 18th Street at around 11:15 p.m. Thursday after a car hit a Pittsburgh Police motorcycle unit.

The officer reported back pain and was examined by ambulance services. He was then taken to the hospital for further examination.
The driver of the car was arrested on site and subjected to a sobriety test. There was not a word on possible charges.
