The Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) established the Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute.

Coordinated Health orthopedic practices and facilities that are now part of the Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute will transition to the Orthopedic Institute in a few months. In late 2019, LVHN acquired Coordinated Health.

“The establishment of the Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute allows us to shape the future of orthopedic care in Northeast Pennsylvania and innovate at a level that will provide unprecedented depth and breadth in the delivery of quality care, research and patient experience across the spectrum of the… musculoskeletal system offers. This is a huge plus for the communities we serve,” said Brian A. Nester, President and Chief Executive Officer of LVHN, DO, MBA.

LVHN is the leading provider of joint replacement surgery and sports medicine procedures.

According to a press release from LVHN, Orthopedic Institute enables LVHN to offer even more choice, more locations and more access to meet the needs of everyone from competitive athletes to weekend warriors and everyone in between.

“LVHN’s orthopedic and musculoskeletal specialists now include nearly 150 providers from Scranton to the Lehigh Valley and beyond in every specialty and sub-specialty, giving patients greater choice within the same network,” said John Pierro, MBA , Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Areas of focus at the Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute include orthopedics (orthopedic trauma, pediatric orthopedics, sports medicine), chiropractic, podiatry, pain management, and physical medicine and rehabilitation (physiatrics).

The Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute is the fourth institute under LVHN, joining the Lehigh Valley Heart and Vascular Institute, the Lehigh Valley Topper Cancer Institute and the Lehigh Valley Institute for Surgical Excellence.
