Jessica Latour Stack Appointed Partner at Tinker Ma LLC

Tinker Ma LLC has announced the promotion of Jessica Latour Stack to partner at the architecture and design firm.

According to a press release announcing her promotion, Stack’s project experience spans many industries and states, including Tennessee, South Carolina, Kansas and Alabama. Her recent projects include the award-winning renovation of the McMahan law firm and renovations for the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and the UT Space Institute near Tullahoma.

Stack is also part of the planning and design team that received national recognition with a recent convention for the New Urbanism Charter Award for the Westside Evolves mast plan developed for Chattanooga’s Westside and the College Hill Courts redevelopment.

“Jessica is a truly gifted architect who has not only built her reputation but also built Tinker Ma’s standing in the community,” said Thomas Palmer, lead architect of Tinker Ma LLC, in the same press release. “We look forward to the many opportunities and achievements that Jessica’s career will no doubt bring.”

Stack holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture, civil engineering and management from Clemson University and a master’s degree in architecture from the University of Kansas with a concentration in healthcare design.

dr Brittany Steward joins Joint Chiropractic

dr Brittany Steward, a native of southeast Tennessee, has joined the Joint Chiropractic, according to a press release.

Steward completed her bachelor’s degree with a pre-professional major in biology from Tennessee Wesleyan University while also being a dual-sport athlete in lacrosse and cross country.

She then earned her doctorate in chiropractic from the Northeast College of Health Sciences in upstate New York, graduating with honors. During her studies she met a chiropractor who introduced her to biomechanics.

“I’ve always been a naturalist, and after sustaining an injury and not wanting to take medication, I received my first chiropractic evaluation and fitting, and I knew what I wanted to do next,” Steward said in the press release. “I’m passionate about helping people become the healthiest versions of themselves, and that desire has led me to also pursue certification in Functional Medicine, Whole Food Nutrition, and Exercise Science for Human Performance.”

BlueCross appoints Gregory as Vice President, Controller and Chief Accounting Officer

According to a press release, BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee has appointed Daniel Gregory as vice president, controller and chief accounting officer.

In this position, Gregory oversees the development, implementation and maintenance of the company’s accounting processes and systems. His role includes accounting, external financial reporting, tax compliance and payroll functions for the company.

“Daniel is a proven leader who has demonstrated good financial responsibility on behalf of our clients and members,” said John Giblin, senior vice president and chief financial officer, in the press release. “I am delighted that he is taking on this role.”

Gregory has been with BlueCross for five years and most recently served as Interim Chief Accounting Officer. In 2017, he joined the firm as Director of Accounting Policies and Research, where he led coordination efforts with external auditors to test the implementation of new accounting standards and complex transactions.

Prior to joining BlueCross, Gregory spent 10 years at Unum Group where he served as Associate Vice President of Business Planning and Analysis.

He is a Chartered Accountant and graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

Northwest Georgia United Way recognizes Shaw with a 5-star award

According to a company press release, Shaw Industries was recognized by the United Way of Northwest Georgia with the 5-Star Champion, Community Pillar and Largest Dollar Increase Award for raising more than $1.5 million during the 2021 campaign season.

Shaw United Way Campaign Co-Chairs Amanda Edwards and Scott Davis, along with Shaw United Way Campaign Coordinator Deanna Mathis, led the company in 2021 to its biggest giving year ever, the report said press release.

Shaw launches its Spring into Service 2022 United Way campaign with planned employee volunteer events in April.

Morning Pointe Senior Living appoints Lee to a senior accounting and analytics position

Longtime Morning Pointe Senior Living employee Lauren Lee has been promoted to senior vice president of accounting and analytics, according to a press release.

In the newly created role, Lee will be responsible for data analysis and interpretation while maximizing return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems.

“Lauren has a keen eye for data detail and her ability to bring disparate datasets together to present a clear picture of what that data is telling us is second to none,” said Heather Tussing, Morning Pointe’s chief operating officer, in a press release. “Her years of service to the company and her in-depth knowledge of people, processes and procedures make her invaluable to Morning Pointe.”

Lee’s promotion comes after spending her entire career – more than 12 years – at Morning Pointe. She began as an intern for co-founder and CEO Franklin Farrow, where she conducted trend analysis in the purchasing department during her senior year. Several promotions later, Lee most recently held the title of vice president of culture and talent for three years.

She received her bachelor’s degree in finance from Southern Adventist University and is a chartered accountant.
