“Text Neck”: Why this posture causes pain

If you look straight ahead, the average weight of your head is around 10-12 pounds. When we look down at our phones, tablets, and computers, even a slight forward bend can double the weight of your head. This puts increased stress on the spine and muscles in the shoulders and back. With an average screen time of 4-5 hours per day, this prolonged posture can cause pain, headaches, and weakened muscles.
During this session, Dr. Bernhardt discuss some changes you can make during the day to reduce the effects of the “text throat,” and how chiropractic treatment relieves the pain and pain associated with this extended forward posture.
