The Joint Corp. brings chiropractic care to military bases under a new agreement

“We pride ourselves on making our patients and their members of the armed forces more comfortable,” said Peter D. Holt, President and CEO of The Joint Corp.

The Joint Corp. (NASDAQ: JYNT), the nation’s largest provider of chiropractic care through The Joint Chiropractic® network, has entered into an agreement with the Army & Air Force Exchange Service to provide on-site chiropractic care to military personnel and their loved ones.

One of the destinations of the Joint Corp. include Luke Air Force Base in Phoenix, Arizona .; MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida; and Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in Trenton, New Jersey

The rigors of military training and deployment put a strain on the body. Chiropractic adjustments are aimed at restoring alignment and improving joint movement and nerve function. The Department of Manpower and Reserve Affairs conducted a study to see if chiropractic care could relieve lower back pain in troops. The results of the study found a 5% increase in isometric strength and a 14% increase in endurance in military personnel who received chiropractic adjustments.

The study report states, “Chiropractic improves key fitness traits in active duty members with lower back pain.”

“As part of this new relationship with the exchange, we are proud to be able to provide even more comfort to our patients and their members of the armed forces,” said Peter D. Holt, President and CEO of The Joint Corp. “Our members of the military put their bodies under extreme stress in the performance of their duties. The benefits of chiropractic can positively affect and improve your overall wellbeing as it fulfills its role in defending our nation. “

The exchange operates more than 4,900 facilities in more than 30 countries, 50 states, four U.S. territories (Guam, Puerto Rico, Northern Marianne Islands and American Samoa) and the District of Columbia, and serves an eligible customer base of 33 million active and retired service members and their families.

“After five trips abroad, I saw firsthand the toll military life can bring on corpses. I have personally seen how chiropractic helps restore movement and reduce the discomfort to the body caused by serving in the army, ”said Major Barrett McNabb, US Army (retired) and owner of multiple units at The Joint Chiropractic. “I am proud to be part of an organization that is committed to serving this special group through this new relationship with the exchange and providing convenient on-site chiropractic services.”

In addition to serving members of the military on site, The Joint Chiropractic honors members of the military nationwide through its military recognition program. The year-round program offers active and retired military personnel, National Guardsmen, and veterans, as well as their immediate families, a first-time visit for only $ 19which includes counseling, testing and adjustment. The program also reduces prices by $ 10 for a monthly wellness plan or a chiropractic package.

Millions of Americans have experienced pain relief because of the benefits of chiropractic’s natural, drug-free approach to health care. Everyone from the soldier to the officer to retirement can improve their quality of life through routine chiropractic care.
