FORT SILL, Oklahoma (KFOR) – Several soldiers at Fort Sill had heat problems Thursday and many were rushed to hospital.

Fort Sill officials said 11 soldiers experienced heat-related symptoms during a field exercise.

Paramedics from the battalion treated four of the soldiers, but the other seven were taken to local hospitals for surveillance, Fort Sill officials said.

“The safety of our soldiers and trainees is our top priority. During the field exercises, the soldiers are constantly monitored for heat-related symptoms. Our drill sergeants and cadre are trained to identify these symptoms and act immediately, “Fort Sill officials said in a press release.

The incident is currently under investigation, officials said.
