Emergency exercise set for garrison school | education

Area school and government officials, law enforcement and first responders are trained in emergency situations during a Wednesday exercise at Garrison School.

The exercise is designed to help local, state, and federal agencies practice their response skills, according to McLean County’s Emergency Manager Noelle Kroll.

Roads near the school will be closed and ambulances will be on and around the school premises for several hours from 1 p.m. The public is asked to avoid the site for safety reasons, Kroll said.

The exercise is sponsored by a US Department of Homeland Security grant and is hosted by McLean County.
