SAN DIEGO – The USNS Yukon (T-AO 202) fleet replenisher of the Military Sealift Command (MSC) and the USNS Washington Chambers (T-AKE 11) dry cargo / ammunition ship will participate in the Pacific portion of the US Navy’s 2021 exercise.
Yukon and Chambers will provide logistics services to ships in the region, including aviation fuel, bunker fuel, dry fodder, and machine parts and equipment.
“Exercises like LSE 21 demonstrate MSC’s ability to provide crucial logistical support to our joint combat aircraft,” said Captain Kendall Bridgewater, commander of the Military Sealift Command Pacific. “MSC is an important part of our nation’s defense forces, and exercises like this allow us to operate at an accelerated pace that will sharpen our capabilities for future operations.”
LSE 2021 is a globally integrated exercise designed to test advanced warfare concepts across the spectrum of maritime and amphibious operations under Distributed Maritime Operations (DMO). The LSE 2021 will take place from August 3 to 16, 2021 in the areas of operation of the US Pacific Fleet, the US Fleet and the US Navy Forces in Europe.
