WILLISTON, ND – Members of the Williston Fire Department, Williams County Emergency Management, and the National Guard used the old public building for a training drill Wednesday.
About 40 people were on site to take part in a number of scenarios for dealing with foreign substance exposures. This is the first time since the pandemic began that the guard has been able to come to Williston and hold this training session.
“The familiarity with just our individuals working side by side so that in case there is a real situation we have some familiarity; and we know the capabilities of Williams County and Williston Fire Department, and they know our capabilities so that we can complement each other, ”said Lt. Col. Patrick Flanagan.
Flanagan says they will be back in 2022 for a major exercise with Williston relief workers.
