“She had blood clots in her lungs, brain and stomach… everywhere,” her father, Dennis Lee Chavez, wrote on social media. “That’s the first time we learned that she was diagnosed with leukemia. It was so intense and quick. Doctors told us that there was no way that we could have imagined it.”

Chavez passed away in the early hours of 135 a.m. Monday morning, just hours after being admitted.

Family members informed The Chronicle they believed that her only sign she suffered from was occasional bruising. However, they chalked it up to her being a bit of an obnoxious girl.

The teacher of her class, Caroline Pinkston, said her class for fifth period isn’t quite the same.

“Julia was the sweetest of children I’ve seen Her voice was lovely. She was able to talk with anyone, and she would make people feel like a friend,” Pinkston wrote.

Julia will be laid to rest at Grovetown this Friday.
