Reality TV star Khloe Kardashian has opened up about the “indescribable” migraines she suffers after forgetting her medication. She says she wishes other people would understand how much she suffers
Khloe Kardashian has spoken out about suffering from “debilitating” migraines and called out those who alleviate other people’s pain.
The 37-year-old reality star took to social media on Monday to reveal she left home without her migraine medication and opened up about the “excruciating” pain she’s suffering.
“I wish people would understand how debilitating migraines can be,” the single mother wrote to her 29.4 million followers on Twitter.
“I get so frustrated when people tell me to have my way and it’s just a bad headache if they only knew!” She continued.
“The feeling is excruciating and indescribable. I can’t believe I left home without my migraine medication.”
Fans were quick to respond to the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star with tips and tricks, asking what medication she was taking for the pain.
Khloe also announced that she was taking a “drug called Nurtec ODT” to treat her migraines, as well as sharing stories and chatting with fans in responses to her tweet.
When one follower suggested that “daith ear piercings” might help ease the pain of a migraine headache, the star wasn’t too enthusiastic about the idea – responding that she doesn’t “have the balls” to get a piercing through.
A few social media users pointed out to the Good American founder that using the phone or using the computer can make the pain worse, but the reality TV star made things clear in her follow-up tweet.
“I’m fine now. There is no way I could be on my phone if I still had my migraines,” she told her followers.
“I just took a breath because I had to postpone a meeting because of my migraines. When I apologized [sic] and explained why I didn’t make it earlier, everyone rolled their eyes. “
Khloe also spoke about how her health problems are affecting her time with her daughter.
The star is the mother of three-year-old True, who she shares with ex-Tristan Thompson.
She replied to a fan on Twitter, stating that she felt that the “worst” migraines can sometimes come between her and True.
“You really are the worst!” stressed Khloe as he answered.
“I feel so bad about having one, especially when they come between me and my daughter. She’s only three years old so she doesn’t understand that I really can’t lift my head when I’ve experienced it [sic] one.”
She added, “Most adults don’t understand.”
This isn’t the first time Khloe has spoken about her battle with migraines.
Last year, the 37-year-old star spoke to Prevention about the “debilitating headaches” she began to suffer from in sixth grade.
The star confessed that the embarrassment of telling her family that they were suffering prevented them from asking for help.
“I would just be incapacitated in bed,” she told the publication.
“I couldn’t lift my head and it was scary so young.”
Thankfully, at the age of 16, Khloe sought help from a friend of mother Kris Jenner’s migraine headache, and the star was diagnosed and given the medication she needed.
