In a formal statement, which was uploaded on the Campos Racing social media channels the Spanish racing company has declared the news that Ralph Boschung has been withdrawn from the Barcelona race weekend because of “significant neck discomfort” which he experienced during the third round in Imola.

Boschung was allowed to participate in Free Training on Friday, which was when the injury appeared to get worse which meant he was out for the remainder week.

Official Campos Racing statement says:

Unfortunately, our driver Ralph Boschung won’t be able to take part in this weekend’s event at Barcelona.”

“The Swiss driver begain to suffer from neck pains after Round 3 of Imola. He was nevertheless confident that he’d be able to compete this weekend, but following today’s practice free of charge, the driver realized that he would not perform at the highest level of his capabilities and decided to take a break from the race and concentrate on recovering to be at 100% to race the next time at Monaco.”

Obviously the team wholeheartedly supports this decision. We wish him speedy recuperation.”

Boschung later posted on his personal Twitter account “A very difficult day. I am grateful to you all for your support and hope to recover shortly .”
