Nutrition grants at two schools in the area |  Local news

The Minnesota Department of Agriculture recently granted funding to two schools in the area to help them increase the amount of healthy local food in school meals.

The Immanuel Lutheran School in Gaylord and the Catholic schools in the New Ulm area are among the recipients of the USD 5,000 Farm to School First Bite Mini Scholarship.

School districts across Minnesota received a total of $ 294,907 towards purchasing local groceries for school meals. Funding is provided through the Agricultural Growth, Research and Innovation Program, which provides grants to farmers, agribusinesses, schools and more across Minnesota.
