WATERFORD N.Y. – Waterford, New York — of Waterford’s business and community enjoyed two sets of ribbon cuttings to mark an official launch of Ze Cuisine & Cafe as well as the change of the ownership of Irresistible Nutrition.

The two Broad Street businesses marked their milestones by joining their respective members of the Capital Region Chamber of Commerce together with local and state government officials and community members.

The location is located at 53 Broad St., Irresistible Nutrition is a health club serving nutritious high protein shakes as well as energizing teas. The company changed hands in February and is now operated by new entrepreneurs Timothy Van Sleet and fiancee Candace Rockefeller.

Van Sleet, a Rensselaer County native, stated that the ultimate goal of this business is to make it a success and to open additional locations in the area.

At present, “We want to be active within the local community,”” Van Sleet stated during the ceremony of cutting the ribbon and announcing his ideas to have the company active in the local community.

Just a few doors away another couple from the area celebrated the launch of their first eatery Ze Cuisine & Cafe. The restaurant is located in the 49th floor of Broad St., this restaurant serves American Mediterranean fare including hummus falafels, falafels, gyro and kabob, as well as breakfast items like burritos, burgers and burritos. Since its opening in 2021, it has seen a surge of loyal customers.

Fouad Harajim founded the cafe together with his wife and head chef of the restaurant Zeineb Lefrouji, said that the opening of this cafe is the ultimate dream of the couple. “My spouse has a great love for food. She is a great cook and an excellent cook,” Harajim said, noting that the restaurant makes use of fresh , local ingredients throughout its menu.

Both businesses were greeted and congratulated on the ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Senator Daphne Jordan, Assemblyman John McDonald officials from the town and village of Waterford and representatives of the Capital Region Chamber of Commerce and Capital Region Chamber of Commerce. They all offered their best wishes to the business owners who are new to the area.

Ze Cuisine & Café’s times are from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m . Monday through Saturday, and 8 a.m. until 2.30 p.m. on Sundays for take-away or dining-in. Catering is also available.
