23 vaccination deaths were recorded between July 23 and 25, with the youngest being a 26-year-old male, Taiwan’s Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced today, Monday, July 26.
CECC spokesman Chuang Jen-hsiang said the 26-year-old has a rare disease. He was found by family members with no vital signs five days after the vaccination. A local clinic said respiratory failure was the cause of death.
Of the 23 new deaths, 15 had received the AstraZeneca vaccine, including six men and nine women aged 26 to 95, and the deaths occurred between one day and 45 days after vaccination. Another eight cases, including four men and four women aged 64 to 89, had received the Moderna vaccine and died between three and 21 days after vaccination.
Around 280,000 people were vaccinated from July 24-25, of whom 270,000 received the AstraZeneca vaccine and 12,991 people received the Moderna vaccine, according to the CECC.
The total number of people vaccinated so far is 6,674,129, which is about 27.39% of the population.
So far, 507 deaths have been reported after vaccination, of which 241 women and 266 men who died between the day of vaccination and 58 days after it. Of the fatalities, 444 had received the AstraZeneca vaccine and 63 had been vaccinated with Moderna.
While the recently deceased 26-year-old man was counted as the youngest death after vaccination, the youngest in the reporting system for fatal side effects is a two-month-old breast-fed baby who died within 24 hours of the mother’s vaccination.
Also, over the weekend of July 24-25, 95 serious post-vaccination adverse events were reported.
According to information published by the CECC and reported by SETN, serious side effects following AstraZeneca vaccination included suspected stroke, myocardial infarction, pulmonary embolism, low platelet count, low neutrophil count, septic shock, heart failure, acute gastroenteritis, cellulitis, swelling and lymphadenopathy at the site of the vaccination , allergic reactions (systemic urticaria, red and puffy eyes, red rash, breathing problems), general malaise, dizziness, fever, headache, blurred vision and chest pain, subconjunctival bleeding of the left eye, subcutaneous bleeding, hypotension and shock, vasculitis, intraoral blisters and Thrombocytopenia, convulsions and thrombocytopenia, chest pain, dyspnoea, enteritis and epilepsy, left hand swelling and left shoulder pain, lower limb pain, petechiae, bruises on the toes, swelling and pain.
Serious adverse events following Moderna injection included suspected facial palsy, stroke, central retinal artery occlusion, myocardial infarction, pulmonary embolism, superior mesenteric artery embolism, myocarditis or pericarditis, pneumonia, hepatitis, acute cholecystitis, gastrointestinal bleeding, miscarriage Stillbirth, vaccination redness, swelling, heat and pain, widespread bullous fixed drug rash, allergic reactions (general rash, urticaria), general malaise, unexplained changes in consciousness, fever, dizziness and shortness of breath, left eye bleeding and blurred vision, arrhythmia, hyponatremia, abdominal pain and gas.
The CECC and medical experts insist that the link between the vaccines and sudden death is ambiguous.
