With the pandemic confining most of us to our homes, it is no longer really possible to go to the gym on a daily basis. Add work from home culture to this situation; The result is that we just sit around our house all day. As a result, we don’t walk around the way we normally would, and we also aren’t really able to exercise on a regular basis. Home gyms are an innovative solution to this problem! Home gyms ensure that we exercise and maintain our bodies from the comfort of home. We don’t have to get out or stress about the cons of getting out, and we can slip into our sportswear and do our daily workouts right at home. That’s why we’ve put together a collection of unique, super-functional, and innovative home fitness designs that will ensure you stop using the pandemic as an excuse to skip your workout! It’s time to get fit and healthy with these designs.
Oliver Perretta’s stamina was inspired by a piece of furniture that actually resembles a normal training bench, the BEKANT series from IKEA. Both IKEA’s BEKANT and Perretta’s physical condition have similar personalities. They appear as modest, simple furniture designs whose true essence is expressed in the fact that they fit into any room. First an inconspicuous side bench or a low table during the living room hours and then an adjustable home workout with a sliding bench in the gym. Perretta was sure to make bullnose corners for the fitness training station to improve both the piece’s adaptability and its accessibility in its inherent baby-safe design. Additionally, Perretta plans to use aluminum extrusion in every possible construction process to ensure a high strength-to-weight ratio for more intense workouts. Die-cut panels also make for easy and thorough cleaning, so work never feels stressful after a good sweat.
A space-saving work + workout setup for body and mind! It’s been a year at WFH and we all quickly realized the need for furniture that can serve a dual purpose and optimize space when working at home / at work. Especially for the urban population who live in compact apartments, it is a challenge to create a home office and have space for exercise equipment – another lifestyle change that we have adapted to! This innovative desk design uses wall bars at its core with modular attachments that allow you to use it as a 9-5 setup and then turn it into beast mode. Wall bars made in Germany offer a multitude of possible variations. In addition to many training opportunities, the combination offers a functional workplace. The table module is attached in a few seconds without tools. The height is flexible, so it can be used as a desk or as a high table. After work, the desk module can simply be unhooked and folded in to stow it behind the wall bars, under the bed or behind the door. With additions such as the slide, the kids can find their movement compensation on the wall bars even after work. These setups are suitable for the whole family and the wooden surface allows them to be seamlessly integrated into any interior aesthetic.
NordicTrack Vault comes into play and literally helps you train at a professional sports level thanks to the iFit trainers who are registered with the platform. No drilling or screwing is required to attach the wall bars to every door in your home – ideal for rental apartments or hostels. The training device goes far beyond its wall bars advantage. It can be used inexpensively for sling training, stretching programs, or isolated muscle training. There are tons of ways to configure it so you never get bored of repeating the same exercise. The FatMonkey wall bars can also be combined with your existing fitness bands, sling trainers and gymnastic rings for circuit and functional training.
The greatest advantage of the WalkingPad S1 is that it saves 95% space when folded and also compared to a treadmill without compromising on training. It has been redesigned to fit more people and more scenarios that come with flexible living. It’s also 20 lbs lighter and takes up to 45% less space than the older model. I also think it’s great that it has noise cancellation so that it can be placed in different rooms without interference. “Equipped with high-quality materials for the frame and the running belt, we want to offer you the best training experience at home. Wake up to a morning stroll at home when it rains or burn some calories before going to bed; WalkingPad S1 is your perfect solution for efficient and effective daily training – anytime and anywhere ”, so the team.
Shard Exercycle, designed by Analogy Design, focuses more on aesthetics and function than the statistics that are shown in advance. The brass-metal outer frame encloses the fiberglass body with the pedals, handlebars and seat to give the bike a pleasant form factor that you actually want to flaunt. Arun Kumar, Senior Product Designer at Analogy, says: “The challenge here was to use the right materials to bring a sculptural quality to the product, but also to maintain a balance between the physical and digital experiences of the product.” At the heart of the design phase of the bicycle stood for ergonomic comfort and the flexibility to adapt to people of different sizes and heights. Once this was clarified, the design team proceeded to lay out the biofeedback interactions to illuminate the entire body and convey the training intensity in real time. Combine this with the built-in heart rate and speed sensors, and Shard Exercycle communicates the data with the compatible app to carry out any fancy analysis.
Since physical fitness has become an indispensable part of our everyday life, Stoyka aims at a balanced use of living spaces as fitness studios. To find this harmony, the Stoyka designers have integrated a storage system into the power rack that slides out from behind the rear wall of the power rack. These sliding racks offer enough space to store the dumbbells of the power rack, round weight plates and rack accessories such as support beams and spotter arms. With its interchangeable design, the Stoyka fits seamlessly into any living or office space by simply sliding the hidden storage panels behind the rear wall of the power rack. Equipped with the means for strength HIIT training and balance and flexibility exercises, Stoyka is supplied complete with reinforced frames, hooks, safety stops, cross bars and removable wall bars.
Our modern lifestyle includes standing in one position for hours, which is unhealthy, and pluching was created as an organic solution that brings more exercise! The time we spend in one place has increased so much since the pandemic started because we only work from home and then watch Netflix at home. This can lead to turtleneck syndrome, shoulder pain, back pain, and unhealthy stiffness, which you can minimize with stretching devices like pluching. The idea was to develop exercise equipment that would have the effect of band exercises and stretches but could be attached to the back of your chair for convenience. Pluching uses a strong neodymium magnet embedded in a silicone clip to secure the equipment and give you stability.
Designed to adapt to your flexible lifestyle, the NOVA enables you to change your health and body, no matter where you are, without having to go to the gym. Instead, the single exercise machine is a high-performance portable gym that uses high resistance to provide full-body strength training at home, in the office, or on the go. “The NOVA Gym offers up to 18 kg resistance in each hand in all levels of movement, but weighs only 1.12 kg and can be folded up to go anywhere,” says Paul Francis, who designed the design and is also an architect, Industrial designer and inventor.
The team behind G-Wall designed their home gym specifically for storage behind a cupboard or cabinet door. That way, you are actually spending the time that you would have spent making room for your home fitness system instead using it. The G-Wall Home Fitness System has several great features: variable modules, customization and compatibility, to name a few. Each user decides for himself from which modules he would like to form the overall system. This means that the design of G-Wall makes it possible to integrate a home gym anywhere in your home, despite the space available. The different modules that users can choose from range from cardiovascular equipment to dumbbells to heavy training. The equipment supplied with each module is stored in cabinets or racks that can be easily hung behind doors or as the user deems appropriate for their personal space.
